 With the end of the tiring club season, European players have to play in the League of Nations. Germany coach Hans Flick has questioned the effectiveness of these extra matches in the World Cup year. According to him, due to these matches, the players are not getting much needed rest.

Germany have already played two matches this month in Group 3 of the League of Nations, against Italy and England. Both the matches have been drawn. 

Flick's team will face Hungary in the next match on Saturday. Then on 14 June 2014 the world champions will play against Italy in the return leg.

At the press conference ahead of the match against Hungary, Flick was asked if the matches in the Nations League were tiring for the players. The 56-year-old coach said that playing non-stop till the World Cup would be challenging for everyone.

"Yes, I agree. Four matches after a season like this (stuffed schedule) is much more. We need to keep that in mind for the last two years. Many matches were frozen during the epidemic. In the future, our time will be like an English week (two matches a week). ”
