Shakib started preparing for the Caribbean series

The Test team has been training on Caribbean soil for the past week, but captain Shakib Al Hasan was on leave. He joined the team on Sunday after spending holidays with his family. The left-arm all-rounder has started preparations for the Caribbean series by joining. Meanwhile, the Tamim-Muminuls are playing a three-day practice match. Shakib could have batted on the last day if he wanted, but Shakib spent a long time practicing batting in the nets.

After the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at home, Shakib went to Singapore for regular check-ups. He returned to the country after seeing the doctor. After that he left the country secretly for the United States. After spending a few days with the family, he joined the team on Sunday. Shakib Al Hasan will play the first Test against the Caribbean on June 17 after three days of preparation.

Shakib is returning to his old duties after several years. For the third time, the leadership of the Test team has been handed over to Shakib. The last two matches against the West Indies began to lead the way. The previous two times as a captain could not bring much success to the team, but this time Shakib has a lot of expectations.

Shakib took over after former captain Mashrafe bin Murtaza was injured during the first Test of the 2009 tour of the West Indies. In the first phase, he played for the Test team for 13 months. The left-arm all-rounder won one of the nine Tests he led. He was sacked after losing a Test match in Zimbabwe in 2011.

The left-arm all-rounder took charge in the second round in December 2016. In addition to the service test, the leadership of the T20 team was also handed over to him. This time Bangladesh won two of the five Tests under his captaincy at home against the West Indies and lost the only Test against Afghanistan.

Shakib's captaincy would have been long, but he lost the leadership in 2019 by getting involved in the fixing debate. Under his leadership, Bangladesh has won three out of 14 Tests and lost 11.
